It was impressive to see what in theory should have been just a single-player experience offer such a solid multiplayer selection.
Splinter cell blacklist spies series#
Mercs to the series through a Classic mode and a Blacklist mode, according to producer Sbastien. You also can play the game in co-op and this is done pretty well too. Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist will re-introduce the competitive multiplayer mode Spies vs. The idea is that you are on a team of spies or mercs and you have to use your gadgets and teamwork to try and win the match. You have the awesome Spies vs Mercs mode that started back in Pandora Tomorrow. The multiplayer on offer here (which I am not sure if are still playable) were fantastic back in the day. The gameplay is nice and tight and I really do think that they managed to offer both stealth and action routes in the game very well. You get more points for using stealth so there is a reason to be doing it.
Splinter cell blacklist spies full#
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist is once again a game that is full of action, but they do give you the tools to play the game stealthier if you wish. As the game progressed, action started to become a more prominent trait of the series. The Spies play from a third-person perspective, and much of their movement and control mechanics are like Sam Fisher’s in the singleplayer campaign. The first couple of Splinter Cell games were all about stealth and that was what drew so many people to the series. It is an action-packed, Michael Bay kind of story, but it just feels a step back from Conviction. You know the deal I found the story in this game to be one of the most uninspired ones in the series. There is a terrorist plot, missing weapons, a new terrorist group, and so on. Speaking of the story, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist has you going all over the world from small villages to big cities. It made the story a bit harder to get invested in, I know that sounds harsh, but Michael Ironside did such a great job in making Sam feel like a real character, you got very invested in the story. It was quite jarring to hear Sam Fisher sound so different from what we were used to. One of the main criticisms thrown the way of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist was that the voice actor for Sam had been changed. While not many people look back on this game, the fact of the matter is at the time, this was a big deal and most people (myself included) were very happy with what this game turned out to be. It was a direct sequel to the last game which was why I was all in on this. There was a time when a new game in this series was a big deal and I was very excited for Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist.
